Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • What size breaker is needed? I have been finding conflicting information on this and cant find it anywhere in the manual.

This would take a 20A double-pole breaker. The corresponding wire would be 12 AWG, with 2 hots and a ground, no neutral.

  • Can I get a 25 foot installation kit instead of the 16 foot installation kit?

This series has the 16' lineset prepacked within the cartons, so that can't be modified during purchase. You'd need to get a 10' extension and flare coupler, or a separate 25 kit.

  • It says to use a 12 awg wire with two hots and a ground. Does that mean I can use a traditional 12/2 wire and use the white wire as a second hot

The standard accepted practice is to use black and red color wires for L1 and L2. But ultimately yes, it is just a color and makes no real difference.

  • is this unit nrtl inspected

Yes - It is ETL certified, which meets the NRTL requirement standards: https://www.osha.gov/nationally-recognized-testing-laboratory-program/current-list-of-nrtls

  • Isn't the system pre charged for 25 ft of line yet you prepack with 16 ft lineset making system overcharged? Do you sell 10 ft extension lines not in a kit?

It is optimized for 16 feet, but sufficient for up to 25 feet (or as low as 10 feet) without requiring adjustment of charge. For longer lengths, you'd need a separate longer lineset here, or join the standard one with an additional via the flare union coupler.
