    Questions & Answers

    Have a Question?

    Ask a Question
    • Can you put a filter on the air intake?

There is a washable/re-usable filter on the intake side already, please see page 11: https://www.pdhvac.com/site/downloads/manuals/PYR009AZFRVBKE-UM.pdf

    • Do you have to vent the exhaust outside of the dwelling area?

The bottom will be exhausting the heat that it removes from inside the RV so it needs to have ventilation to the outside air. If the floor openings are sealed well, then the outside air will not mix or come into contact with the dwelling air.

    • What is the delta t range. Average is 20 degrees from ambient temp.

The Delta-T (supply vs. return air temp.) is 20-25°.

    • What happens under 19 degrees and above 104? Does it shut down or just los efficiancy

When operating outside of that temperature range, the system diminishes in capacity rapidly and will shut down if temperatures get significantly more extreme.

    • If running in cool (A/C) mode with the fan on auto, will both the condenser and fan power off when temperature demand is met?

In cooling mode the compressor will cut off but the fan stays running to continually circulate air to know when cooling is needed again. The fan itself uses negligible energy and must run for air to flow over the temperature sensor.

    • What is the maximum square footage the unit can cool?

We recommend this for up to 350~400 square feet.

    • Has this been updated/upgraded recently, because the listing now specifically states "Inverter Heat Pump Air Conditioner"?

Yes, this is now a fully Inverter-driven system with close to 0 start-up amps (no soft-start needed).

    • Will the bench rv heat pump be able to keep a sprinter van cool in the Florida hot & humid august days? Thank you

Yes, this would be perfect for that kind of application!

    • Does it come with the ducts? If not, where can I find them?

It doesn't include the ducts but those parts can be sourced here: https://www.pioneerminisplit.com/collections/accesories/products/air-outlet-and-duct-hose-kit-for-pioneer-under-bench-heat-pump
