What's a Mini Split Installation Kit?
Every mini split installation needs a lineset - the set of insulated tubing that circulates refrigerant between your indoor and outdoor units. So, if you're purchasing a mini split and you don't have one already, there are really just two questions: which material, and how long.

How long?
Match the run between your two units to a length below.
10ft
Back-to-back, straight through the wall.
16ft
Adjacent room or a short run on one floor.
25ft
Across the house, or up to a second story.
33ft
Longer runs with attic routing or extra turns.
50ft
Long or multi-turn runs, or a detached structure.
Not sure? Measure in three steps
- Measure the straight-line distance between the two unit locations.
- Add slack for going up or down walls and around corners.
- Round up to the next size.
When in doubt, size up. Extra line coils neatly behind the outdoor unit - running short means reordering.
