In a question someone asked about 10 -2 wire you answered 10-2 wire is correct and stated you need a 30 amp double pull breaker but the data sheet says you need a 35 amp double pull breaker which one is correct
In nearly all cases the 10 AWG wire does not need sizing up to the next thickness until 40A. Regardless, the 35A spec is the maximum allowable breaker size, any breaker size between 25 and 35A is perfectly suitable. 30A is the most commonly found size, so we recommend 30A.

Do I need a neutral wire or just #10 2 wire with a ground?
This would take a 30A double-pole breaker. The corresponding wire would be 10 AWG, with 2 hots and a ground, no neutral.

Is this considered a 3 ton?
A ton is equivalent to 12,000 BTUs. Therefore 36,000 BTUs would be the same as 3 tons.

Is this diy?
That is entirely dependent on your skillset and comfort level. Many customers hire a technician to perform the installation, and many others opt to self-install the system. It's up to your preference. They can be DIY installed with proper preparation. The outside unit is factory pre-charged and the line sets are pre-flared to make it simple. It would be a medium-advanced project. The only part needing any specific knowledge is vacuuming the lines using a pump and pressure gauge prior to releasing the refrigerant into the lines, a step which can be bypassed using our easy to use Kwik-E-Vac line set flushing tool which skips that process.
